The Cincinnati United Premier GU15 Red team traveled
to the Rutgers University
campus in New Brunswick, NJ for the Memorial Day weekend to compete
in the prestigious PDA Girls College Showcase.
The team is comprised of 17 special girls and is coached by Becki Poeppelmeier. Compete they did – winning all four of their

Cincinnati United “formerly
Sycamore, Lakota United and Cincinnati United Premier – CUP” advanced 6 teams
to the finals of the OSYSA State Cup soccer tournament and comes away with 4
State Cup Champions. CU had more finalists and champions than any one
soccer organization in Ohio South. Congratulations to our 4 State Cup Champions
and good luck at the 2008 US Youth Soccer Championship, which will be held in
Rockford Illinois June 20-25.

U-15 CUP Girls Lead ODP team to Victory in Disney!
Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Florida hosted its
annual President’s Day
Soccer tournament this past 16th of February.
The Ohio South 93’ girls
posted tournament wins of 5-1 over Naples FL, 1-0 over
Manhattan NY, tied
Vardar MS 1-1, and defeated New York’s regional champs
the FC Sting Killer
Bees 2-1 in the final championship game.
CUP was represented by Janese
Atkinson and Megan Cravenor from U-15 RED and Alexa
Fiehrer and Sydney Huth
from U-15 WHITE.
CUP girls accounted for more than 50% of the team’s
tournament goals.
Once again, CUP players played an important role in the
success of the ODP program. Congratulations and way to go!!!
CUP White U16 Girls bring home the Vulcan Cup!
The CUP White U16 Girls
braved the conditions in route to Birmingham,
Alabama and the tournament
championship at the Vulcan Cup (hosted by Birmingham United Soccer Club). With
mother nature doing her best to side track the team, the families worked
together to help insure that thirteen of the players were able to make the
journey from snow-covered Ohio to sunny Alabama. More.....
The
CUP U-15 Red Boys
They were Finalists in the Silver Division of the Vulcan Cup in
Birmingham, AL, March 1-2, 2008. En route, they defeated Norcross Fury
Gold, GA, 3-0 and Gulf Coast United, MS, 2-1. They then tied Mandeville
Lakers, LA, 1-1 earning enough points to make it to the final match. CUP
played HC United Premier in the final losing 4-1.

CUP U-16 Girls Red Team wins Region
III Invitational
Cincinnati United Premier U16 Red Girls, coached
by Bob Muro, won the Region III Invitational hosted by Stone Rivers Ladies
Football Club (SRFC). The tournament was held in Smyrna, TN from February 29 – March
2, 2008. CUP played some great soccer while on their

CUP Seasonal Halftime Report:
The
weather outside may not show it but spring soccer is just around the corner.
That means Cincinnati United Premier is getting its teams ready for the second
half of their soccer season. If the first half of this season is a predictor
for the future then the spring CUP teams are ready for another great season.
This fall the CUP boys and girls teams
demonstrated their knowledge, passion and commitment to the game of soccer when
they trained and competed in tournaments and league play. CUP teams train on
artificial grass fields from November until April at Princeton High School
(Girls) and at Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy (Boys). Please read the

CUP Girls Start tomorrow 12/30/07, click here for schedules
Cincinnati United Premier U16 Red won the Predator Group of
the prestigious Disney’s Soccer Showcase hosted by Chelsea Football Club. In group play they defeated last years
finalist Albertson Academy 2-0, Alex Priede and Chris Kuramoto scoring the
goals, Kentucky State Cup Champ Javanon 1-0, Alexander Hill scoring the game
winner, and South Carolina State Cup Champ CESA 1-0, Caleb Eastham providing
the match winner. In the Semi-Finals the
opponent was Massachusetts State Cup Champ FC Greater Boston Bolts. With the score tied at 0-0 after extra time,
the team won a dramatic shoot-out 8-7.
The final opponent was Oklahoma State Cup Champ Tulsa
Thunder Black. Trailing 1-0 in the final
three minutes, Chris Kuramoto won a penalty which his brother Brian buried to
force extra-time. In the first OT Priede
gave CUP the lead which they held until 4 minutes to go in the second OT. In their second shoot-out, Priede, Hill, and
B. Kuramoto converted their penalties and Alec Gates came up with two saves to
give the team the Championship.

CUP U15 Girls white win Orange Classic 12/30/07
It took nine
rounds of sudden death PK's for the CUP U15 white girls to defeat the Cobb
Strikers from Georgia in the championship round of the Orange Classic in
Florida.
Claire Falknor, Fallon Vaughan, Katie Bourgeois, and Alex
Ancona all made penalty kicks with Brooke Henghold hitting the game winner and
sealing the championship for CUP! The CUP White girls were flawless defensively
throughout the tournament only allowing 3 goals all tournament and 0 goals in
the semi's and final games. The keeper tandom of Christina Mathur and Bree
Jibben combined to man the net while defenders Alex Ancona, Brooke Barden, Jen
Laking, Brooke Henghold, Katie Bourgeois, Abby Bush and Arie Knue managed to
yield very few shots on goal. The scoring tandom of Claire Falknor and Sidney
Huth (3 goals a piece) were all this team needed offensively to bring home the
Orange classic title for CUP!

CUP Alumni help OSU in its first tripto the College Cup. - 12/15/07

- Eric Edwards, Cincinnati United Premier (Milford) scored the
game-winning goal that sent Ohio State University to it's first ever Soccer NCAA Final match here
friday afternoon. Eric Edwards, Ryan Kustos and
Adam Tenhundfeld ( Lakota West ) and Ryan Daulton (St.Xavier) have been a big part of CUP'S success in the past , winning State
Cups and providing many memorable soccer moments. Congratulations to them
all!.........more infoCUP Red U-15 Boys Win GIT - 12/02/07The CUP Red U-15 Boys, coached by Paul Rockwood, won the Germantown Invitational Tournament (GIT) held in Memphis, Tennessee December 1-2, 2007. This was the team’s second tournament win in the 2007-2008 club soccer season. The team beat Little Rock (Arkansas) FC Blue 1-0, Ajax FC Chicago (Illinois) 6-0, tied United 1996 93’s International (Kentucky) 0-0, and defeated Metro FC Rapids (Ohio) 1-0 in the final match.

CUP White U18 Boys Division Champs in Bethesda - 11/25/07
The Cincinnati United Premier
White U18 Boys team placed first in the U18/U19 Patriot Division of the
Bethesda Thanksgiving Tournament on November 24th & 25th
in Bethesda, Maryland.
The tournament, just outside Washington
DC, is one of the premier events
in the nation and serves as a college showcase.
CUP was placed in a very competitive group, among top state ranked teams
from Maryland,
Virginia, New York, & Pennsylvania.
In 4 matches the team won 2 and tied
2, giving up only 2 goals against top level competition. The team tied the Baltimore Bays Young Guns
1-1 (#4 ranked team in Maryland),
tied Great Falls Rangers 1-1 (#6 ranked team in Virginia), defeated the Rye Rovers from New York 3-0, &
defeated the VE Wildcats 1-0 (#6 ranked team in Pennsylvania). Individual leaders from the weekend include
Luke Spencer (3 goals & 3 assists), Garrett Szabo (1 goal & 1 assist),
Seth Petrey (2 assists), Kyle Maxam (1 goal), Kendall Lewis (1 goal), &
Aaron Schultz (1 assist). Other members
of the team are John Erickson, Tim Brady, Mike Orth, Danny Elmore, Shelton
Graves, Eric Gast, Chris Haught-Thompson, Ivan Otero, & Jake Waters. The team is coached by V Kontopos & Steve
Spitler.
CUP U15 Boys Win CASL Tournament. - 11/18/07
The CUP Red U-15 Boys, coached by Paul Rockwood, won the CASL Shootout Tournament in Raleigh, NC held November 17-18, 2007. This was the team’s first tournament in the 2007-08 club soccer season. They team tied 1-1 vs. the Orange County Sting (Florida) and 0-0 vs. Ohio Premier, placing them in a “must win” position for their third game on Sunday. Sunday morning, they shut out CASL Raleigh, the host team, 3-0, thus advancing to the finals on Sunday afternoon. In the final match the team defeated the Texas State Cup winners, Texans FC 92-93 Red, 1-0.

CUP U-14 Boys Win GIT in Memphis - 11/4/07
The U14 Boys Cincinnati United Premier (CUP) Red team traveled to Memphis to participate in the Germantown Invitational Tournament (GIT) over the November 3-4 weekend. They played at the prestigious Mike Rose Soccer Complex and enjoyed 72° temperatures, a grass pitch that was like turf and some serious competition. They won their first game 2-0 against the #2 ranked Tennessee Rush, they won their second game 3-0 against the #3 ranked Mississippi Jackson FC, they tied their third game 1-1 vs the #5 ranked Metro Strikers out of Missouri and won their finals against the #9 ranked Georgia FC out of Atlanta 2-0. The weekend was marked by spectacular defense and goal keeping by only giving up 1 goal in 4 games. The halfbacks and strikers did their part by scoring 8 goals and creating chances in abundance. The team is coached by the CUP Director of Coaching, John McGinlay, The team formed in June of this year and began practicing together for the first time August. In addition to winning the GIT, their fall record includes winning the top division of the Buckeye League, placing 3rd at the Sycamore Arsenal Challenge Cup and 2nd at the Indy Pride Cup along with a strong showing in the MRL League.
